A nostalgic look back at my favorite hockey heroes and legends who wore the red, white and blue for the Rangers in the 60's 70's and 80's.

* One of the leaders of the Gold Medal winning 1980 USA Hockey Team
*Assisted on Mike Eruzione's winning goal to defeat the Russian Olympic team in 1980
* played 5 seasons for the Rangers from 1981-1986
* Ranks # 83 in the Top 100 Rangers list
* Tough, clutch and skilled goal scorer and playmaking Center
* Established a Rangers "Rookie" scoring record in 1981-82 with 76 points
*Team MVP in 1982-83 season while scoring a career high of 37 goals
* Team leader in scoring with 82 points in 1983-84
*Set a franchise record with 5 goals at home against the Hartford Whalers in February 1983
* Along with the rest of his "smirf" teammates on the Rangers they defeated the bigger , stronger and heavily favored Philadelphia Flyers during the 1982 and 1983 playoffs
